The story of Unlisted began in 2017 at an ad agency in Wisconsin when Kristi and Michael began working together. Over nearly three years, they would go on to co-lead design, copy, and strategy teams. By 2019, we knew we had a choice to make. In our time working together, we learned that the two of us could take on projects scoped for a larger team. Our complementary backgrounds, skill sets, vision and dark humor bloomed into a working relationship that was not only effortless but got sh*t done. We spent many waking hours mulling over ways to make better work and happier clients. All we needed was a vehicle to set our ideas into motion. So, there was the decision: abandon our ideas or jump into the driver’s seat.

And here we are today—driving our own consortium with a passion to provide ethically-priced, big-city service at freelance speeds with a model of efficiency.

As a business-minded creative with over a decade of experience in branding, marketing and design, Kristi’s motivation is rooted in understanding people. Regardless of title (graphic designer, art director, brand manager, photo editor) or hat worn (copywriter, project manager, photographer, strategist, supervisor) a love for creative problem solving through strategic design has existed at the core of everything she does. Between running a thriving freelance design business and working on agency and in-house marketing teams, Kristi has successfully led brand development and marketing campaigns for clients from local nonprofits to international corporations.

A print and digital native, Michael has executed award-winning creative for dozens of Fortune 500 brands in manufacturing, fashion, consumer electronics, packaged goods, retail, grocery, finance and healthcare.
